, ,Transylvania University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming/Diving Coach. Transylvania, founded in 1780, is the nation’s 16th oldest institution of higher learning and is consistently ranked in national publications as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. Transylvania is located blocks from downtown Lexington, KY, in central Kentucky. Transylvania is a proud member of NCAA Division III.
The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming/Diving Coach will assist the head coach in the management and coaching of an NCAA Division III swimming and diving program. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with operations management (e.g., program development, schedule, camps/swim lessons, marketing, and public relations), recruiting, assist with office needs, practice plans, and other secondary duties as assigned. This position requires frequent travel; work in the evenings, on weekends and holidays. Secondary duties will include event management/sports information. This is a full-time nine-month appointment.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and either collegiate playing experience or coaching and effective communication/organizational skills. In addition, candidates should have an athletics philosophy compatible with a Division III liberal arts college with highly selective academic standards.
